Philips Epiq 7

Refurbished

Call to configure, special pricing available 317-759-9210

The refurbished Philips Epiq 7 ultrasound machine is a premium cardiovascular ultrasound machine well-known in the industry for its high-end performance.

It replaces the wildly popular Philips iE33 cardiovascular ultrasound, and also serves as a very good shared service ultrasound. As a refurbished unit, the Philips Epiq 7 price makes it a great bargain for a high-end ultrasound.

The key new technology found on the Epiq 7 is what Philips calls “nSIGHT”. This represents a fairly significant difference in penetration, resolution, and processing power over previous ultrasounds.

Price starting at $45,600

With improved processing power, beamformers, and parallel-processing abilities, the used Epiq 7 takes advantage of one of the better features found on premium ultrasound machines today: Single Crystal probes.

Philips’ xMATRIX architecture includes PureWave single crystal probes that improve spatial and temporal resolution, while also allowing better penetration through all modalities.

Other features include:

  • Philips Anatomical Intelligence Ultrasound (AIUS) for enhancing the exam experience and improving diagnoses;
  • Real Time iSCAN optimizes gain and TGC automatically

As the successor to the wildly popular Philips iE33 ultrasound machine, the refurbished Philips Epiq 7 had some big shoes to fill.

This machine did not disappoint when it delivered vastly improved image quality, penetration, processing power, ergonomics, and exam assistants.

Many consider Philips as the ultimate premium ultrasound manufacturer, and they have a very loyal following among their users.

nSight was introduced to the market in early 2014 as Philips major breakthrough technology for image beamforming and multiprocessing. With nSIGHT and enhanced processing in the machine, the Epiq 5 handles more information and provides better real-time imaging resolution.

SonoCT on the Philips Epiq 7 is also known as compound imaging (CrossXBeam, iBeam, etc). It allows the ultrasound transducer to see from multiple lines of site at different angles, as opposed to the standard line-of-site that’s perpendicular to the transducer lens.

XRES on the Philips Epiq 7 portable ultrasound machine uses a software algorithm to increase image resolution by reducing “speckle” (artifact) while brightening tissue in the image. The result provides a clearer image with higher contrast between hyper- and hypo-echoic regions.

xMATRIX technology is available on refurbished Philips Epiq 7 ultrasound systems with xMATRIX technology enabled. The xMatrix allows for 2D and 3D realtime imaging… the X5-1 xMATRIX transducer on the Philips Epiq 7 has 2600-3000 elements.

iScan on the Philips Epiq 7 is a one-touch optimization in which the system evaluates the ultrasound image and optimizes Gain automagically.

Live compare on the Philips Epiq 7 allows the clinician to recall current or previous exams to compare side-by-side with current image data.

Live 3D is also known as 4D in most circles (a GE term). It allows real-time 3D imaging in cardiac imaging on the Philips Epiq 7 with the X5-1 and other xMATRIX transducers.

Philips PureWave is a transducer technology in which the crystals (elements) of the transducer are arranged uniformly, which is not the case with standard transducer technology. Philips states that PureWave technology provides more consistent image results.

Q-Lab is Philips Quantitative analysis software package for cardiac ultrasound studies. It includes a series of options available on some Philips ultrasound machines. These features include items such as ROI quantification, Tissue Motion Quantification (TMQ), Strain Quantification (SQ), IMT Intima Media Thickness), Microvascular Imaging, and GI 3D Quantification.
